Pick Up & Drop Off

Woods Hole

The Eel Pond Bridge, Water Street, Woods Hole Village, Falmouth MA.

Please read the parking section below before your charter date. Parking in Woods Hole is the single thing most likely to make guests late.

Where We Tie Up

Down the stairs by the bridge

The small dock is down the stairs to the right of the Eel Pond Bridge keeper’s control room, in the alleyway between the bridge and the building next to it. We will be tied up to the dock awaiting your arrival.

The street numbers here are nebulous: the bridge is 66 Water Street and the building beside it is 68, with the alley in between. Look for the bridge keeper’s control room rather than a number.

Parking

Plan for this in advance

Some metered parking is available in the village, along with a few private lots, but in general parking is extremely restricted during the summer months in Woods Hole.

The village publishes a parking information page worth reading.

What We Recommend

Steamship Authority parking and shuttle

In our experience the most reliable option is the paid parking outside the village provided by the Steamship Authority, about $25 per day. Take their free shuttle bus to the Steamship Authority Terminal, then walk about three minutes to the dock, just over the Eel Pond Bridge.

Arrive to park at least 45 minutes before your charter begins to allow time to wait for the shuttle and for the ride itself. The shuttle is subject to the same traffic as the rest of Woods Hole, especially at rush hour or when a ferry is arriving or departing.

Palmer Avenue Lot

286 Palmer Avenue, Falmouth, MA 02540

Thomas B. Landers Lot

22 Technology Park Drive, East Falmouth, MA 02536

Check which lot is preferred on your arrival day, under the Martha’s Vineyard travellers information.

Important: if you go to the wrong lot and it is full, you will miss your scheduled arrival time and may forfeit a portion of your charter time.

The Shuttle

Getting a seat

Once you have parked and secured your vehicle, walk to the shuttle bus stops in the lot. Sometimes a bus will already be waiting. To improve your chances of getting a seat, park near a shuttle stop and approach any bus already waiting in the lot with a driver sitting in it.
